The Desert Safari is an off-road voyage of discovery aboard Mercedes Benz all terrain Unimog vehicles, which take you over bumpy terrain and through dry streams and remote villages on a mission to reach the heart of the Sierra Mountains.

Summary: 72 HOURS ADVANCE BOOKING REQUIRED. This tour does NOT include hotel pickup, but does offer hotel drop-off. Guests must be at least 8 years of age. All participants must sign a liability waiver. Parents or guardians are required to sign for guests ages 8-15. Rates are per person in US dollars and include tax. Please reserve online, or call us toll-free at 888-760-0315. There is a $3.95 processing fee per order. This is a flat fee regardless of the number of tickets or tours purchased on an order.
There is a service charge per ticket. This charge will be reflected on your summary before you checkout. The total shown includes any and all taxes, fuel surcharges, and service fees. There are no additional charges.

Cancellation Policy: There are no refunds. All sales are final.

Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.

Leaving the town behind, the fun, knowledgeable and eco-friendly guides, who are experts in nature, take you into the heart of the desert in a safe and enjoyable environment. Experience an educational nature walk through the untouched desert vegetation, discovering the healing powers of the flora and fauna as well as learning about animals and wildlife indigenous to the region.

While journeying through cacti and bumpy, dry stream beds, a gentle trek takes you to visit a local family, living independently off the surrounding land. As they invite you into their home, try freshly made tortillas, fruits from the region, refreshing drinks and a selection of traditional Mexican dishes where you can enjoy the authentic flavors of Mexico. An educational tour of their gardens, full of flora and fauna typically found in the region, allows you to learn more about the local agriculture.

--What should I wear during the Desert Safari?
Cool clothing, tennis or hiking shoes, and a light sweater are recommended(winter months). It is also suggested that you bring insect repellant.

--What is the minimum age allowed to participate?
Children must be at least 8 years old to partake in this adventure.

--Is anyone able to participate?
Due to safety reasons, people with a history of seizures, vertigo, back or neck injuries, balance or heart problems, and pregnant women are not permitted on the tour.

--What hotels do you drop-off to after the tour?
Drop offs are available to hotels in the Corridor Region and the areas of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose only.

--What type of food is served during the Mexican lunch?
You are served many traditional dishes of Mexico. Fajitas, guacamole, rice, beans, mole (a variety of sauces), and machaca (meat with different spices) are examples of the type of food that you will be enjoying!
